Day 19: Look What Came In...

Dave got a call this morning from Kay's that my wedding band came in from being sized and engraved. I'm so excited...I can't wait to wear it, permanently. The engraving says "u will always be." They couldn't fit in 'you' so they put 'u.' Just waiting for his to come in and then that is one more thing I can check off my list with only 6 weeks left.

Day 18: Finally!!!

Dave's wonderful handy work! We just got a new air conditioner because the other one was crap! We finally don't need our living room a/c and additional fans constantly running. And it works AWESOME! After installing the new a/c, he fixed the towel holder in the bathroom...and he says he isn't handy.

Day 17: New Pillows

Ahhhhh...brand new pillows. When we get new pillows, we beat them until they are so flat we constantly have stiff necks. We finally bought new, fluffy pillows made of feathers and down. Hopefully these last much longer. As I was putting the pillow cover on, Ollie was putting his head down on the other end of the pillow, testing it out. He loves to steal our pillows when we get up lol. It was soooo cute. I wish I had my camera for that.

Day 16: New Work Uniform

Today was definitely nothing special. Went to work with Dave today and while in Connecticut, we stopped to buy me some new scrubs for work. I'm glad I get to wear scrubs and sneakers, but overall I'm just not happy. I'm extrememly happy about being with Dave and getting married and having my puppies, but the whole work situation and not being in school makes me just angry. I've worked in a medical office since I was 19 and the few months I worked in a pet store was FANTASTIC! It was something totally different and fun. I absolutely HATE working in an office. And I hate the fact that I haven't (and probably won't) have a chance to go back to school for what I actually want to do. I've just been angry alot lately with not going anywhere as far as work (it will never be anything I can go farther with) and not going to school. I wasted time and money for my associate's degree in something I don't even want to do, it was only approved by my mother. Plus, I really just want to start having a family and I want to move, move somewhere both Dave and I don't have a history. Somewhere we can have a new, fresh start. But oh well...I guess everything will have to wait...

Day 15: My Not-So-Naked Finger

So today was very exciting! Dave got the call that my engagement ring was ready to be picked up!! Yay I don't have to feel so naked anymore!!! Plus today I also dropped off his wedding band to get engraved, my wedding band is not back yet. Ah, one more thing I can check off my list of things that need to be done for the wedding. Still too many things to do before October 13th...starting to freak out inside a little bit, lol that hasn't come out vocally yet. I'm going to call and set up my first dress fitting. So there will be pictures of that, just not on my blog...future hubby reads it lol. Anyway, last day at my job tomorrow. Training for the new one starts Wednesday and then I officially start on the 23rd...thankfully. I'll finally be able to do things other than get home from work, eat dinner, and then go to sleep. I'll be home at decent times now! Also congrats to our friends Amanda and Joey, they had their baby boy today...Daniel Michael Wingster. Can't wait to meet him!

Day 14: Sleepy Ollie

Today I didn't really do much of anything. I watched tv and cuddled with the puppies and searched the web for random stuff and of course...wedding stuff. I cooked dinner today and I actually meant to take a picture of it...I thought it looked really good...garlic and herb pork chops with mashed potatoes. Lol but I forgot to grab the camera when I was serving. Oops. So while laying in bed, I was downloading a game...Harry Potter Spells on my iPod...Ollie curled up next to me and I though it was so cute. He falls asleep so easily and is dead to the world. Lol his body and legs and paws are so limp.

Day 13: Happy Friday the 13th...

Well, normally I have a pretty good day on Friday the 13th. Usually nothing crazy goes wrong...but not today. Next week is supposed to be my last week and they screwed me out of two days worth of work. Hopefully I can start my other job sooner. It was just insane today...one of the doctors FLIPPED OUT on one of my coworkers in front of some patients. Glad I'm done with that place. The best part of my day (other than leaving work and going home) was having my Starbucks. Best Starbucks drink ever is the iced (or even hot) nonfat chai latte!!! Always makes me feel better and I love the mixture of spices!! So DELISH!!!!

Time for me to go sit in the living room while Dave watches his weird cartoon shows...that are not even funny...more like gross and disgusting. Personally I'd rather be around when he watches his weird anime. *rolls eyes*

Day 12: Rocco and Ollie

So today was another eventless day! Woke up late for work, but luckily rushed and caught my train with enough time. Slow day at work...basically had half a day and BSed the rest of the afternoon. It finally cooled off a little bit, but who knows how long that will happen. Didn't really know what to take a picture of, so of course there was always the babies. They always brighten my day...unless they cause some major trouble. Today they were good though :) I LOVE my puppies!!

Day 11: Missing My Ring :(

Today nothing really happened, just another long day at work. Got home and Dave made nachos for dinner, they came out soooooooo good. So during nachos and ice cream for dessert we watched "I Love You, Man." It's totes magoats (no clue how it's spelled)!!! I love this movie. But today I had no clue what to take a picture of, so I took a picture of my naked hand...today I found myself really missing my engagement ring, which has been sent out for sizing :( I've gained so much weight over the past few months...thank you thyroid, so now my ring needs to be bigger. I hope it comes back soon!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better blog. Goodnight everyone!!

Day 10: View From The Train

Nothing really happened today...typical day of getting up early and going to work in NYC (7 more days left there) and then coming home. This project has given me a reason to finally snap a picture of the gorgeous view I get to see from the train. I'm so glad the sun came out so this picture worked how I wanted it to. This morning looked like it was going to downpour any minute, but it didn't. Now it's time to relax before I have to repeat again tomorrow.

Day 9 August 9, 2010: Happy Birthday Rocco!!!!

Today Rocco turned 1 year old!!! I can't believe it...time has flown so quickly. I still remember the day Dave and I brought him home. Lol he was so afraid of walking down the stairs when we went to walk him, lol at first we needed to carry him down. Then a few weeks later, he was more comfortable with the stairs, he got very brave and jumped down one step...instead of landing, he face planted on the concrete...he still has a scar on his chin to this day. He was (and still is in some ways) a very dopey dog. As a little puppy his paws were too big, his nose was (and still is) HUGE...so cute though...and he had very floppy big ears, which he has grown into a tiny bit. Dave says he is more my dog now...which is funny because he ALWAYS used to go running to Dave when it was just him. Now that we have Ollie, Dave says Rocco runs to me (especially when Rocco is getting in trouble with Dave lol). Lol he is a mama's dog!! Here are some pictures of my baby!!

In this picture Rocco is trying to get to the cake that I made (trial number 2 of our wedding cake that I am making). Lol he thinks he should have it because it is his birthday!! Lol I wish I bought little hats to put on the dogs...that would have been so cute.

So today was kinda lazy...laundry, make dinner, do dishes, and bake trial number 2 for the wedding cake. I'm really hoping by me baking the cake it will come out cheaper than buying it. The first time I did the trial, I used just the yellow gluten free cake mix and substituted the water for the apple cider and added the spices and I made a whipped cream frosting. I didn't have a filling because I wasn't sure which I was going to do yet. The combo with the whipped cream wasn't that good. BUT this time, I made the same cake, used apple preserves as the filling, and MADE the buttercream frosting. I had no clue there was that much sugar in it (8 cups of powdered sugar!). Came out soooo much better this time...so I have a winner! My dad and maid of honor are going to help me decorate it...now it would be nice if people would send their response cards so I have a better idea of how much cake to make!!

Day 8: Movie Night...Again!!!!!

Today was a very lazy day. We woke up very late and Dave made breakfast. Then we both went back to sleep and when we woke up, we laid in bed watching tv. We finally left for the mall to look at stuff in Best Buy...I mostly wanted to look at movies. I wanted to practice making our wedding cake, but it was just so nice to be really lazy with Dave (we don't get to do that often). So we spent a long time in Best Buy looking at movies and a few other things. We kept picking up DVDs. There were so many on sale, it was hard to choose. First movie that was picked out was Borat (which Dave insisted on watching first...currently watching at the moment). Then we just kept grabbing and grabbing lol. Didn't expect to come home with all these movies. I'm really dreading watching Paranormal Activity again. The last time I watched it was when it was in the movie theater and I didn't sleep all night. Luckily I have tomorrow off.

Our Pets!!!

So today I went with pictures of the puppies and our freshwater tank. I think it's pretty hot outside, nothing like it has been for a long time, but I felt bad for Rocco and Ollie. Since the heatwave we haven't been able to take them to the dog park or since I was sick I wasn't able to take them for their usual walks...needless to say they have a lot of pent up energy. I decided to take them for a walk...figured we'd go outside for an hour, but after about 15 minutes they were panting like crazy!! Had to bring them back inside lol. Even though we didn't get very far, they have been sleeping (YAY some quiet!!) for the past 2 hours or so. Since they have been asleep I've been able to finally try my new computer game...Starcraft 2. Totally addicted to the first one...and 2 is EVEN BETTER!! Lol Dave will regret buying that for me.

And since the theme was animals I also decided to include the fish tank Dave had set up. It's freshwater...with about 6 fish in it I think. Dave prefers saltwater tanks, but this one I think fits perfectly in our apartment for now. When we get a house or at least a bigger place, then he'll set up a saltwater tank. Luckily there has been no disasters with the puppies constantly running around and knocking things over...*knock on wood*

Such a Wonderful Day!!!

Today I went with the theme of posting a picture of my future hubby. Lol he turns up a lot on here doesn't he??? He is the absolute love of my life. He makes me so extremely happy and I love how he spoils me even when I don't ask for it. He is too sweet...and not to mention cheesy (see picture below lol).

Just wanted to throw this in as well. I'm just so excited we got our wedding bands. Mine is already out for sizing and engraving. Lol he has apparently known for a long time what mine was going to say. I didn't know what I wanted his to say so we took it home. I'll have to bring it back now that I know what I want his to say. But I made him put the ring on so I could take a picture of it and he HAD to have his remote in his hand lol. Crazy man with his electronics!!! It's two tone...high polished yellow gold with a matte white gold inlay.

Also on a side note, I gave my two weeks notice at work as I will be starting a job closer to home finally. I can't believe I lasted this long with that commute. So YAY!!! Now I am off to play my new computer game that Dave surprised me with. I love that man!!! <3<3<3

Weather To Suit My Mood Today

This was the view I had of the Mid-Hudson Bridge while waiting at the train station this morning. So unfortunately I had a pretty crappy day again. I've had so much on my mind, that I think it's all just balling up inside and it is finally making it's way out. Plus, I was really tired this morning because in the middle of the night there was a big thunderstorm (with lightning and alot of rain) which terrified them so much Rocco and Ollie pounced on me to wake me up and cuddle them. It was cute, but by the time I fell back asleep my alarm went off shortly after.

Even with the rain, it was still absolutely humid out and sooooooooooo hot. By the time I reached Manhattan, the sun was out and made the heat worse. So I was drenched in sweat going to work and coming home from work...what a nice day. (Please note the sarcasm)

Here's to hoping tomorrow is a better day...TGIF!!

My Blisses...

Lol if that is even a word!! So I decided to go with the theme for today and no surprise there is more than one...lol sorry more cheating. First is of course my future hubby, Dave. Here he is after a long day at work being a dork lol. Which, as usual, makes me smile when I'm in a crappy mood. He is my other half...without him I am not complete, so it makes him my first bliss.

Tied, of course, are Rocco and Ollie. Here Rocco is chewing on one of the MANY bones we have laying around the apartment. Lol he makes so much noise when he chews...clearly he enjoys it ALOT. Also, half the time he chews on his bones he doesn't hold it in his paws. Lol he is lazy!! He'll chew and it will go all over the place (and he'll drop it if he isn't on the floor) or he shoves it in my lap and makes me hold it while he chews on the bone...weirdo, but too cute!

Here Ollie is passed out on the bed. Lol his favorite thing to do is sleep. He plays for maybe 20 minutes and then he goes to sleep...snores too. He also seems to consider our bed HIS bed lol. We tell him to get down and he looks up and I swear if Ollie could speak he'd say "Why?? It's my bed."

And finally...second to last bliss...is reading. Currently I am reading the Harry Potter series. I'm on Year Five. LOVE THESE BOOKS!!! Lol I also want to go to Universal Studios that has the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I'm such a nerd!!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...my other bliss is taking pictures. If it isn't on my camera, it's on my cell phone or on my iPhone turned iPod. I have soooooooo many pictures that I can't even keep them on my computer, they are all saved on an external hard drive. My dream is to go to art school and become a photographer. I'd much rather be behind the camera than in front of it.

One of the Top 5 Favorite and The Top Worst Part of My Day!!!

So my day started off crappy...alarm went off and I was soooooo tired that  I didn't even wear my contacts today. I left the house extremely tired at almost 6:30am to be able to catch the train into New York City for work...then continue with my 30 minute walk to the office (for a total of a 2 hour commute ONE WAY!!!!) Then as soon as I walked into the office it was just chaos...ALL DAY!! Then repeat the 2 hour commute as soon as I left the office...I kept counting down the hours...time could not move fast enough.

Time to explain the picture...that is a picture inside Grand Central Station. As much as I love going into the city...the sites, the park, the shopping, the food...EVERYTHING, I HATE going there for work. That makes this site the worst part of my day. Seeing this site when I'm catching a train home to my wonderful family, makes it one of my Top 5 favorite parts of my day. Hopefully a better day tomorrow!!

Movie Night!!

So today I had two job interviews. My second one was at the mall for a doctor in a Lenscrafters. Dave drove me and we got there kinda early, so we were looking around in Best Buy. I saw that the movie "Marley and Me" was on sale so we grabbed it and then he picked up "9". We both wanted to really see that movie and "Marley and Me" what can I say...it reminds me of Rocco, my yellow lab. Although I do have a very difficult time watching it now since we bought Rocco...I cry more than ever now.

But afterwards, we went home and had lunch...we also started watching "9". Dave needed to go back to work and won't let me finish watching the movie until he gets home :( So I figured let me snap a picture of the new movies...this is what we have alot of too. We ALWAYS watch movies...ever since high school. Most of our dates consisted of going to the movies and even today, we head out to the $2 movie theater and watch a movie as our  "date night." When he gets home, I'll have dinner ready and then we can finish our movie.

My Favorite Person (and Doggies!!)

So for the first day I decided to go along with the theme that was put up on our group's fan page. I couldn't just put one picture up because I have 3 favorites in my life...

The first one is Dave...my best friend, my future husband (73 days yay!!), my lover, my support, my knight in shining armor, my prince charming. I love him so much!! I can't believe we've known each other for 10 years and I can't imagine what my life would be like without him.

Tied for second are my two adorable, loving labs!! Rocco, the yellow lab, is going to 1 year old in a few days. I can't believe how time flies! Dave and I bought him at the pet store I used to work at and he has just been an awesome dog. He has just a great personality and constantly makes me laugh. Ollie, the chocolate lab, is 17 months. We adopted him from someone in Scranton, PA. Ollie and Rocco are inseperable from the very first day. He is much more calmer than Rocco. He plays, but he really just loves to cuddle. I call him my cuddlebug lol. I love having these two dogs around, they are my little babies (clearly they aren't little lol Rocco 80lbs and Ollie 70lbs) and I think is amazing how protective they get over me and Dave.
